Kolmanskop is a ghost town in the Namib's diamond mining forbidden zone.
The town was abandoned in 1954 when richer sources of diamonds were found elsewhere, since then the desert has slowly but surely began to take it back, sand dunes now fill many of the interiors.
I've long wanted to visit this place since I saw the movie Dust Devil in the early '90s. The last part of the movie was shot here.
